How Much Does a Reiki Session Cost in Medellín?

By Uber Puerta · Published

Real Reiki prices in Medellín: observed ranges in COP and USD, what drives the differences, and what a session should always include. Ask before you book.

How Much Does a Reiki Session Cost in Medellín?

Based on what is published as of August 2026, a Reiki session in Medellín ranges from 50,000 to 220,000 Colombian pesos (roughly 12 to 55 US dollars, approximate). Most standard sixty-minute sessions sit between 80,000 and 150,000 COP. Above 180,000 there is usually something extra: more time, travel, or follow-up that continues after you leave the table.

That is the honest picture. Here is where each number comes from.

First, what these numbers are and are not

Everything below is a market range observed in August 2026, taken from what centres and practitioners publish themselves, and from directory listings such as Doctoralia Colombia.

It is not an official rate. No such thing exists. Reiki is not a regulated health profession in Colombia, and nobody sets reference prices.

Prices change, and they change quickly. The USD figures are rough conversions, included only to give you a sense of scale — the exchange rate moves, and the peso price is the real one. Always confirm the current figure with the person who will see you.

One quick reading of the table: there is a factor of more than four between the cheapest and the most expensive session in the city. That is a lot. And it does not always correspond to four times the experience.

Why one session costs 60,000 and another 200,000

Six things explain almost all of it. None of them is mysterious.

Training and time in practice

Someone who finished their first level three months ago and someone who has been accompanying people for years are not doing the same thing, even if the technique carries the same name.

This does not show up on a certificate. It shows in how you are received, in the questions asked before starting, and in what is said when it ends.

Actual length

Thirty minutes and ninety minutes cannot cost the same. And "a one-hour session" may mean sixty minutes on the table, or forty on the table plus twenty of conversation. Ask which one it is.

The space

A consulting room in El Poblado with commercial rent, a waiting area and a receptionist carries fixed costs that a private practice in a house in Envigado does not. Part of the price is square metres, not energy.

The format

In person, at a distance, at your home, or out in nature are four different things. Travel is charged for. A session in a natural setting involves time, a road, and preparing the place.

Whether follow-up is included

Some sessions end when you open the door. Others leave a channel open to write in the days afterwards, and include a closing conversation to review how it went.

That takes time, and it explains a good part of the higher rates. It is also what people tend to value most.

Why to be wary of very cheap

Cheap is not the same as bad. I know people who charge little because they are starting out, and who say so plainly. That is honest.

The concern is different.

A 30,000-peso session rarely sustains a full hour of attention, a decent space, and time to talk before and after. The arithmetic does not work. When it appears to work, something has usually been cut: the length, the privacy, or the listening.

And be wary of a low price that comes with a big promise. "Energy cleansing 40,000, guaranteed results" is a sentence where the price is not the problem.

Why to be wary of very expensive

On the other side there is a different illusion: believing that a high price certifies quality.

It does not. In an unregulated practice, everyone sets their own rate and nobody audits anything.

Two specific signals make me pause:

An extra charge for a problem just discovered. If halfway through a session an entity, an attached energy or a serious blockage appears, and with it an additional fee to remove it, that is not Reiki. It is something else, and it tends to be expensive.

A large package paid upfront. Ten sessions, twenty, thirty, discounted and non-refundable. No Reiki process needs that structure. You can stop whenever you want and nothing is damaged.

A high price is legitimate when something nameable supports it: more time, travel, a different format, sustained accompaniment. When you cannot name what supports it, ask. The answer will tell you what you need to know.

I go into this in more detail in how to choose a Reiki practitioner.

What a session should always include, at any price

This list does not depend on the fee. It is the minimum, at 60,000 and at 200,000 alike.

  • A conversation first. Ten or fifteen minutes where you say why you came.
  • An explanation of the procedure. Where the hands rest, whether there is physical contact, how to ask for it to stop.
  • Real consent. You are asked whether contact is welcome, and a no is respected without awkwardness.
  • Clothes on. Always. There is no reason to undress for a Reiki session.
  • A private, clean room with a door. Comfortable temperature, no interruptions.
  • Time at the end. A few minutes to come back, drink water, and say whatever you want to say.
  • Clarity about price and length before starting. Never at the end.
  • Honest language about health. Accompany, support, favour calm. Never cure, never guarantee.

If something on this list is missing, the price becomes secondary. What is missing is the important part.

Why many practitioners do not publish prices

This is one of the questions I receive most, and there are several honest answers.

Some do not publish because every process is different, and a single figure on a website gets misread.

Others prefer the conversation to begin with what brings you, not with a rate. That position is debatable, but it is not bad faith.

And some, it has to be said, because the price varies depending on who is asking. That one does seem a problem to me.

My own standard is simple: publishing or not publishing is legitimate; refusing to tell you when you ask is not. If you write and cannot get a clear figure before booking, that in itself is information.

What a session with Sananda Reiki costs

I do not publish a figure on this page. Write to me on WhatsApp and I will tell you the current rate before you book, with no obligation and without having to explain anything first.

What I can tell you is how I think about the price.

A session with me includes the conversation beforehand without a clock running, the time on the table, and a closing where we talk about what came up. I do not work with closed packages paid in advance, and I do not charge extras that appear halfway through.

Sessions can be held in English, in Medellín, in Santa Elena, or at a distance. If the cost is a genuine obstacle, say so beforehand. You can see the available formats under terapias, and how distance Reiki works explains the remote option.

The total cost: the sum nobody adds up

The price of one session matters less than the price of a process. There is no established number of sessions; the available evidence does not set one, and anyone who gives you a figure without knowing you is selling something.

In my practice most people come once, decide afterwards, and find their own rhythm. Some return weekly for a while, others appear when they need to, and some come once and that is enough. I develop this in how many Reiki sessions do I need.

One last thing, and it is the important one

I have seen people choose well with little money and choose badly with a lot.

The price tells you something, but not the essential thing. The essential thing is whether that person listens, whether they explain what they are going to do, whether they tell you with equal ease what Reiki can accompany and what it cannot do, and whether you feel at peace when you close the door behind you.

None of that appears on a price list. And it is the only thing you are really looking for.

Choose for trust and honesty. Price after that.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Reiki session cost in Medellín in 2026? As published in August 2026, between 50,000 and 220,000 COP (roughly 12 to 55 USD, approximate), with most standard sixty-minute sessions between 80,000 and 150,000. Doctoralia Colombia lists that full range for practitioners in the city. Prices change without notice, so always confirm directly before booking.

Is Reiki cheaper in Medellín than in the US or Europe? Generally yes in absolute terms, and that is a real reason many visitors try it here. But do not treat it as a bargain hunt. The gap between a good session and a poor one matters far more than the gap between two prices, and the criteria for choosing well are the same in any city.

Should distance Reiki cost less than in person? Not necessarily, and it is a fair debate. One Medellín centre publishes distance Reiki at 194,000 COP, above many in-person sessions. Those who charge the same argue the working and conversation time is identical, even without travel or a room. Ask what is included before deciding.

How much is a Reiki course in Medellín? Courses published in the city run between 130,000 and 180,000 COP per level, as observed in August 2026. Note the detail: per level, not for the whole path. Before enrolling, ask how many in-person hours are included, who teaches, and which lineage they come from.

Is it normal for a website not to show prices? It is common and not in itself a warning sign. Some prefer to talk before quoting. The real warning sign is different: asking directly and not getting a clear answer before booking, or a price that shifts depending on how you present yourself.

Does a higher price mean a better practitioner? No. In an unregulated practice, everyone sets their own rate and nobody audits it. A high price is reasonable when something nameable supports it — more time, travel, follow-up. When you cannot identify what justifies it, ask directly. How they answer is worth more than the figure.
